Village Notice Boards

The coldridge Village Notice Board

The village notice board, on the green in Coldridge Devon, suffered severe storm damage in 2006. High winds removed the door and lock, of what was a modern looking board in an ancient Devon Village. The notice board was removed and its site has remained empty since. In the summer of 2011, I decided that it would be a nice gesture to the village if “Man for the Plan” created a new notice board, one more in keeping with the age and location of the village. The notice board is constructed of 100 x 100 mm pressure treated timber. The joints are cross halving joints, glued and pegged. The notice board was finished with 5 coats of tung oil prior to fitting on site. The doors are lockable with Brass Barrel Bolts and a Sash fastener, and glazed with scratch resistant perspex.
